i'm in a bit of a state at the moment, my wife has just left me about 30 mins ago and took the kids...i don't know where.... ok, some of you long-timers may remember the problems i had with my son ben, who decided that the jw religion wasn't for him about a year ago.
i supported him as best i could through that and he's developed into a fine young man with a more healthy spiritual attitude, investigationg a number of christian churches in the area and finally settled on church of england, which he really likes now.. although no longer a christian myself i have no objection to them pursuing whatever religious path they choose (obviously within reason).
that has been the case with all of my children: ben, 15, charlotte, 14 and chloe, 12. i have never attempted to stop my wife taking them to the meetings although i have voiced to them privately my concerns about the religion.
Go visit a lawyer. If not you may find yourself served with a restraining order which prevents you from coming home, except for the 15 minutes you'll be allowed to go there to remove personal items. Then you'll find a court date with temporary support plans.

people who've been reading my posts will know i've been trying to get reinstated so i can get back together with my girlfriend/fiance.
the more time goes on, the less i feel able to do that.
all the things i hear from the platform, and the things that elders have said to me just reinforce the fact that i want nothing at all to do with this organisation anymore.

Wonder if I'll get a visit from the elders? I wonder what they will advise her?
I would think they'll advise her to respect Jehovahs headship arrangement right?
This would be an interesting visit from the elders. You know the rules and they know you know them. The most they could say is if you were more spiritual your wife would respect you and the arrangment more.

I can't imagine my mom dragging me out of the house like that to make a meeting. But if you want your kids out of the dubs then mom has helped your side. You were behaving as a "christian" should behave, it sounds like, and what was she behaving like? Someone insane?
I think you and your wife need to meet with a counsellor from Family Services / Child Welfare (or whatever the official agency is in your area).
I suspect she's only going to be willing to meet with elders. After all we all know how well elders are educated.

The key word here is honesty isn't it? No one has suggested you continue with what you've been doing. I'm no expert on long term relationships but I think you need to be totally honest with her. Don't give her links give her your true feelings. Talk about how you feel and why you feel that way.
Anything else is a lie and that would be the worlds worst start.

OK I've got one of those myself. She's great but I grew tired of hearing about how F****** much Jesus loves me. I told her I used to be a JW but that only put her in hyper drive. So then I asked her if she knew about the scripture about not casting pearls before swine and since her words of wisdom were pearls and I'm a degenerate swine maybe she should stop. Didn't work
So I told her if she ever said Jesus in front of me again that I would shoot her dead.
It seems to be working.
i am so hooked on the tv show dead like me that i watch each episode a couple of times.
i just love it.
i think it's a very intelligent quirkly show that never fails to surprise me, make me laugh and even make me feel a bit sad.
I have watched queer eye just once. They were fixing up a straight guy's appearance so he would be confident when he asked his girlfriend to marry him. It seemed like a fun show.
